The Wigström Design Album Joins Our Collection
We are pleased to announce the acquisition of an exceptionally important and exceedingly rare design album from the workshop of Henrik Wigström, the celebrated Fabergé master of St Petersburg.
Featuring more than a thousand beautifully detailed drawings, this remarkable album offers a rare glimpse into the world of Fabergé between 1911 and 1916. Its pages reveal an array of exquisite creations – from clocks and bonbonnières to elegant picture frames, parasol handles, bell-pushes, and countless other luxurious treasures. Among the highlights is the famed 1912 Imperial Napoleonic Easter Egg, one of Fabergé's most iconic masterpieces

Each design is drawn to scale and thoughtfully annotated with notes on materials and techniques, showcasing the extraordinary skill and precision that made the Fabergé workshop legendary. The album originally served as a visual record of completed pieces, with most drawings marked by dates and production numbers. These should not be mistaken for the inventory numbers added later, once the finished jewels were logged in the firm’s sales records.

Only three Fabergé design albums are known to have survived and as of yesterday, one of them has come into our company’s possession. These sketches will help us further reconnect to our origins in artistry and offer our designers a glimpse into the great minds and practices of the past.
