Descrizione del prodotto

In celebration of love, Fabergé introduces a new limited-edition egg to its ‘Fabergé in Bloom’ objet d’art series, which pays homage to its rich heritage, fusing the iconic egg with the infamous flower studies for which Peter Carl Fabergé was renowned. The Fabergé Wild Rose Egg Objet is destined to become a future heirloom and, limited to just 10 numbered editions, is a collectors’ piece which truly celebrates the beauty of nature and represents the classic emblem of love, the rose.

In ancient Greek mythology, the wild rose is a powerful symbol of love and adoration, with strong ties to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of beauty and love. In fact, Aphrodite is often portrayed with a crown of roses resting atop her head.

Crafted entirely by hand using time-honoured techniques, the creation of this unique egg objet was overseen by Fabergé Workmaster, Dr. Marcus Mohr. In close collaboration with his small team of craftspeople in Pforzheim, Germany, Mohr has been working with Fabergé since the Maison was re-launched in 2009. Mohr explores new and innovative ways to bring historical craftsmanship into the 21st century, with a focus on the craft of guilloché enamelling – although the core processes of this art form have remained largely unchanged for 130 years.

The Fabergé 18k Yellow Gold Red Guilloché Enamel Egg Objet with Wild Rose Surprise is decorated with a vibrant red guilloché enamel ‘shell’ and opens to reveal a charming wild rose surprise sitting upon an 18k yellow gold black rhodium plated guilloché base. Standing 65mm high, the egg is mounted on a stand crafted from black Jadeite Nephrite and includes a responsibly sourced Gemfields Mozambican cabochon ruby button. The surprise itself is an 18k yellow gold wild rose plant. Each petal is hand-painted with light pink guilloché enamel, while it’s 18k yellow gold thorny branches are encrusted with white diamonds and at the heart of the flower a series of diamonds depict the pollen. A special detail is the gold rim that encircles the guilloché plate – the gold has been worked by hand into an organic serrated pattern, echoing the shape of the thorns.
