Fabergé Opens in Houston

1 Minute Read

Fabergé, the world’s most iconic artist jeweller, announces the opening of its first retail boutique in Texas. Founded in 1842 and highly recognized for its legendary series of lavish and ingenious Imperial Easter Eggs, Fabergé is now located in The Galleria, the state’s premier retail destination attracting over 30 million visitors from around the world each year.

The Fabergé boutique features distinctive design elements and motifs that illustrate the story of Fabergé’s illustrious heritage. Fine guilloché detailing, a skillful decorative technique championed by Peter Carl Fabergé in the nineteenth century, is translated into the delicate structure of the interlaced chandelier glass. A playful assortment of signature egg pendants are showcased within an ‘Egg Bar’, demonstrating Fabergé’s contemporary interpretation of its long-standing history with exquisite egg objects. Throughout the store, refined rose gold detailing will highlight the clients’ journey, paying homage to the first Fabergé Imperial Easter egg, the Hen Egg of 1885, and drawing a line between Fabergé’s renowned history and its continued legacy today.

From one-of-a-kind creations to contemporary fine jewellery and innovative timepieces, the Houston store displays the most exquisite selection from Fabergé’s collections. Visitors can discover, center stage within the timepiece showcases, the Lady Compliquée Peacock for ladies, and the Visionnaire Dual Time Zone (or DTZ) for gentlemen, both of which won the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) – the Swiss watchmaking industry’s highest honour – in the ‘Ladies High Mechanical’ and ‘Travel Time’ categories respectively.

Peter Carl Fabergé’s philosophy of fusing artistry, craftsmanship and ingenuity remains the core inspiration at Fabergé - this DNA is clearly embodied by these timepieces, each of which houses a new movement exclusively developed for Fabergé by master watchmaker Jean-Marc Wiederrecht and his team of horological experts at Agenhor.

Houston is already well versed in the world of Fabergé with the Museum of Natural Science currently hosting one of the world’s largest private collections of Fabergé creations,” said Meredeth Moss, Fabergé Global Retail Director. Among the treasures found at the museum is the Imperial Diamond Trellis Egg of 1892, which was recently reunited with its missing surprise, a delicate elephant automaton that is on loan from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. “The opening of the new store will further allow Houston to become a prime destination for those wishing to discover Fabergé, past and present.”

Today, Fabergé proudly designs pieces for a bold and confident individual who dares to be different, drawing inspiration from its storied past in creating contemporary and spectacular jewellery, timepieces and objects. By painting with the world’s finest coloured gemstones, Fabergé explores ‘a life in colour’ through creations destined to become future heirlooms.
