We’re excited to announce that Fabergé has been nominated for two GPHG Awards, in both the Ladies’ and Ladies’ Complication categories, with the Colours of Love Eggsistence Rose Gold Rainbow Gemstone Watch and Compliquée Butterfly Blooms Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition Watch. The GPHG is widely regarded as the 'Oscars' of the global watch industry and is intended to salute excellence in worldwide horological design and craftsmanship.
The two nominated timepieces will take part in a travelling exhibition, offering a unique panorama of contemporary watchmaking art. The 90 watches shortlisted this year by the GPHG Academy will be exhibited in Hong Kong from 28th to 30th September at Christie's new headquarters in the heart of the Henderson Building, at the Saigon Opera House in Ho Chi Minh City from 9th to 11th October in partnership with The Hour Glass, in New York from 18th to 21st October at Watches of Switzerland and finally in Geneva from 30th October to 17th November at the Musée Rath. COMPLIQUÉE BUTTERFLY BLOOMS SINCERE PLATINUM JUBILEE EDITION
We have joined forces with Sincere Fine Watches to produce a limited-edition series of watches in celebration of Sincere Fine Watches’ Platinum Jubilee. Featuring 10 unique iterations of the GPHG award-winning Fabergé Compliquée Watch, the Fabergé x Sincere Fine Watches collaboration features 10 watches each possessing a bespoke dial, making every watch entirely unique.
These collectors’ pieces have been created in celebration of Sincere Fine Watch’s 70th anniversary 2024 and encapsulate the beauty of flora and fauna found in the gardens of Singapore and Malaysia, where Sincere Fine Watches was founded.
Sincere Watch Limited is Singapore’s oldest name in luxury watch retail. Beginning from a humble venture in 1954, it has since blossomed spectacularly into a leading retailer and distributor of the world’s top watch brands in Asia.
Following on from the great success at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in 2015, in which the Fabergé Compliquée Peacock won the High-Mechanical award, Fabergé has now introduced this new variation on the theme, exclusively for Sincere Fine Watches, made in partnership with Agenhor and a team of specialist craftspeople who are able to perform the masterful and painstaking technique of miniaturist artistic painting on watch dials.
These watches take their inspiration from the butterfly – a symbol of transformation, endurance and hope and a powerful beacon of everlasting growth and new beginnings. This design incorporates the national flower of Singapore – the orchid. The orchid is considered a symbol of beauty and resilience.
Wearable art for the wrist, each orchid flower has been micro-painted and engraved onto a mother-of-pearl dial. Set in a 18k rose gold case, these dials pop with colour through the hand-set tsavorites and diamonds, and a blue alligator strap. Included with every purchase is also a black satin strap, making this a highly versatile piece.
This collection features a unique movement developed exclusively for Fabergé by Agenhor. Hours are read at the winding crown at three o’clock, as a numbered mother-of-pearl ring rotates counter-clockwise. The minutes are read by the position of the butterfly’s wings as they unfurl each hour, only returning to zero when the lead wing reaches 60. These mobile works of art display an evolving scene, as time unwinds on the wearer’s wrist. In this manually wound movement, pivoting butterfly ‘blades’ fan out simultaneously indicating the minutes. Each of these blades is moving independently, but at a different speed to the others. As the cycle is repeated each hour, time takes on a new role, going beyond merely charting the passing of the minutes to creating scenes of ephemeral beauty.
These limited-edition watches perpetuate the ingenious and free-thinking spirit of Peter Carl Fabergé himself, who imagined and made many of his creations to be both emotive and fascinating.
COLOURS OF LOVE EGGSISTENCE ROSE GOLD RAINBOW GEMSTONE WATCH
We have introduced the Colours of Love Eggsistence watches to our Colours of Love collection, which celebrates ‘A Life in Colour’ through the use of extraordinary coloured gemstones - bridging the gap between jewellery and watches.
Inspired by the symbol most synonymous with the Maison – the egg – this playful new collection of watches encapsules 180 years of history in a contemporary design, epitomising the timeless allure of Fabergé. Our love affair with eggs began in 1885, and continues to this day.
Self-winding and available in both steel and rose gold, the edition which is being put forward for the GPHG is the top tier piece in the collection, featuring an elegant, 18k rose gold case set with a kaleidoscope of rainbow coloured gemstones on the bezel. The case features delicate fluting on the sides, a signature of our Colours of Love collection, and diamond set numerals, allowing the numbers to shine and capture light through the different facets of the gemstones.
The egg-shaped detail on the hour hand and oval date window are quirky additions to each watch, and the instantly recognisable surrealist–style numerals offer a unique look to the watch face.
In true Fabergé style, each face features guilloché engraving which adds a mesmerising pearl–like effect when it catches the light.
A further fun touch is added with the interchangeable straps, which are easily removed and swapped by the wearer. This allows the ability to mix-and-match to create a personalised look. Keep it chic with matching dial and strap, or dare to go bold with a contrasting look. The straps are created from calf leather, and will be available in a wide range of colour options.
A finishing touch can be found on the case back, with two responsibly mined Gemfields Mozambican rubies, a secret surprise that only the wearer knows.
