1 Minute Read

The Houston Museum of Natural Science in Texas, will be showcasing an exhibition Fabergé: A Brilliant Vision from 1st February 2013 until 31 December 2013. It is the first time that the McFerrin Collection will be on public display presenting more than 350 spectacular objects, including the breathtaking Diamond Tiara of the Empress Josephine. The McFerrin Collection has become one of the world’s most significant private Fabergé collections. Tatiana Fabergé, the great-granddaughter of Peter Carl Fabergé and founding member of the Fabergé Heritage Council will speak on the heritage and legacy of Fabergé.

The exhibition will show a great array of historical decorative objects designed by Peter Carl Fabergé and his work masters in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for the aristocracy and nobility of Imperial Russia. These will include the famed Emanuel Nobel Ice Egg and the dazzling Diamond Trellis Imperial Egg, to enamelled picture frames such as the Fire Screen Frame, a gift from Tsar Nicholas II to his mother, Dowager Empress Maria Feodorvna. Clocks, gold cigarette cases, carved stone animals and flowers, all of which evoke the same awe and fascination today as they did when displayed in the Fabergé storefronts of St. Petersburg and Moscow.

Fabergé today continues the legacy of creating the most extraordinary jewelled treasures offering contemporary High & Fine Jewellery collections.
