The Visionnaire DTZ model won the 2016 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in the ‘Travel Time’ category, for its outstanding craftsmanship enabling dual time zone functionality. This unique piece features 38 baguette diamonds (9.5 cts) on the bezel.
The self-winding Fabergé Visionnaire DTZ uses a movement designed exclusively for Fabergé by Agenhor Manufacture. The model adopts a logical and intuitive method of displaying two timezones simultaneously, perfectly suited to the lifestyle of those who need to keep track of the time in a second, distant location. The hours and minutes of the local timezone are presented with peripheral, open-worked hands rotating around a raised, decorated dome located at the centre of the dial. The hour of the second, remote timezone is viewed through a remarkable aperture at the centre of the dome, optically amplified for a bold finish, a feature sure to surprise and delight.
To create even greater animation and theatre to the dial, the collection features a dial side rotor, visible beneath the dial’s colour-matched sapphire crystal hour ring with applied indices. In true Fabergé spirit, Agenhor Manufacture created a peacock-shaped mechanic hidden within the movement, paying homage to Fabergé’s signature element of surprise.
The Visionnaire I is built around the tourbillon. The harmonious rotation of the tourbillon draws the eye, offering a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes of time-making. Invented in the 18th century to optimise precision timekeeping, this mechanism remains a symbol of exquisite watchmaking artistry to this day. The Visionnaire I pays tribute to the complication by featuring it at 9 o’clock in its so-called “flying”, or totally free, version. This flying version, which is even more challenging to produce, reveals a true mastery of watchmaking. This beating heart reflects the energy that runs through the timepiece, endowing Visionnaire I with greater precision and performance.
