Fabergé, the artist jeweller, will be taking part in the prestigious art, antique and design fair ‘Masterpiece London’ for the first time this year, taking place from 25th June until 1st July 2015 at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
As one of only two Salon Partners, Fabergé will exhibit in a unique 66 square metre space next to the Vanity Fair Lecture Theatre.
The Fabergé Salon will tell the story of its legendary creations, from gems to masterpieces, tracing the journey of the creation process from rough stones to finished jewellery and timepieces, drawing inspiration from its illustrious past.
Fabergé will showcase its three principal product categories: jewellery, timepieces and objets d’art, alongside loose gemstones from the mines of its parent company, Gemfields.
In addition to the new collection ‘Secret Garden’ – a suite of exceptional coloured jewels inspired by the floral compositions of painter Marc Chagall – and the ‘Lady Compliquée’ – a complicated timepiece featuring a peacock opening its feathers every hour – Fabergé will unveil the first of a one-of-a-kind set of objet d’art masterpieces. The set, called the Fabergé ‘Four Seasons Eggs’, comprises four decorative eggs, each set with one of the four major gemstones – diamond, emerald, sapphire and ruby – to represent winter, spring, summer and autumn respectively . Each of the eggs opens to reveal a jewelled surprise on a mechanically-powered presentation podium. This extraordinary objet d’art, the first of the set of four to be completed, will be on show exclusively at Masterpiece London for the duration of the exhibition.
