Remembering Peter Carl Fabergé (30th May 1846 – 24th September 1920)

Little would my great-grandfather, Peter Carl Fabergé, have imagined that we would still be talking about the man who described himself as “an artist jeweller” 100 years after his death. The Imperial Eggs of course remain firmly in our minds, but beyond these 50 iconic pieces we can estimate that his company created over 200,000 items including jewellery, timepieces and objet, all beautifully crafted, whether ornate and complex or simple and functional.

The creativity, attention to design and detail and the ingenuity of this extraordinary man and those working for his company have ensured that his legacy lives on. This remarkable artist jeweller continues to inspire Fabergé today as we celebrate Peter Carl and the art of colour! - Sarah Fabergé
