DETROIT FABERGÉ EXHIBITION

1 Minute Read

The Detroit Institute of Arts will be showcasing the exhibition Fabergé: Designing Luxury from 14th October 2012 to 20th January 2013. Fabergé: Designing Luxury brings to Detroit more than 200 precious objects from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the home of the largest collection of Fabergé in the United States. The show traces Peter Carl Fabergé’s rise to fame, highlighting his entrepreneurial skills, artistic innovations, and privileged relationship with the Russian aristocracy and the Imperial Family.

The exhibition will show a great array of historical decorative objects designed by Peter Carl Fabergé and his work masters in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for the aristocracy and nobility of imperial Russia.

From superb jewellery, including tiaras and brooches, to enamelled picture frames and clocks, gold cigarette cases, carved stone animals and flowers, all evoke the same awe and fascination today as they did when displayed in the Fabergé storefronts of St. Petersburg and Moscow.

Fabergé collections are available online or in our international boutiques.
