Our spotlight this month is on September’s birthstone, the sapphire. Sapphires have been long associated with royalty and romance and are also said to symbolise truth, nobility, and faithfulness.
This gem has been cherished for thousands of years and has adorned Fabergé collections for over a century. Although the term sapphire usually refers to the blue variety of corundum (ruby is the red variety), this gem is available in a spectrum of colours, including pink, green, orange, yellow and purple, and these hues are celebrated in all their glory within our jewellery, watches and objets d’art collections.
