An Egyptian inspired pendant that both dips into the archaeological revivals so prevalent during Fabergé’s formative years and recalls the Egyptian exoticism explored by the great goldsmith, Dinglinger, in the Apis Altar, 1731, in the collections of the Grünes Gewölbe in Dresden that so influenced Fabergé. The face is sculpted in matt burnished gold in the style of antiquity, while the elaborate headpiece, with deceptive simplicity, is composed of white diamonds each mounted individually on a wire.
