Like Catherine the Great before her, Empress Alexandra was entranced by roses, and the Églantine (or wild rose), with its shaded pink and white flowers, was depicted by Fabergé in his poetic flower studies. The heart-shaped petals of these earrings are pavé-set with white diamonds, mixed with blue-grey diamonds adding shade and depth, and scattered with pink diamonds to recreate the églantine's shy pink blush.
