Sarafan Pearl Ring
The setting for this striking ring, in the autumn series of Les Saisons Russes, is designed as three domes with soft and shapely silhouettes, recalling the famous 18th century wooden churches of Kizhi, on an island in Lake Onega, Karelia. The domes, paved in white diamonds and edged in pink diamonds hold three large pearls of superb lustre, paying homage to the great pearls worn by ladies of style and status in turn of the century Russia, while the name of the ring, Sarafan, refers to the overdress of traditional folk costume, revived for formal attire at the Romanov court.
This piece is set in 18 carat white gold and features pearls and round white and pink
diamonds.
