Green Scarab Ring
This series of amuletic, signet-style rings is an evolution of the virtuoso stone-carvings that became stars of the original Fabergé repertoire, inextricably entwined with the Fabergé legend. The scarab beetle, a universal symbol of protection, is carved in green jasper, resting on a table of purple jasper supported by white diamond lotus leaves. Fabergé often used jasper, a mineral mined in the Ural mountains, with their rich resources, around which so many fables were woven.
This piece is set in 18 carat yellow gold and features jasper and round white diamonds.
