HARRODS AND FABERGÉ TEAM UP WITH MIROSLAVA DUMA FOR ‘A FABERGÉ EASTER AT HARRODS’ AND UNVEIL THE FABERGÉ CINESCOPE
Style icon Miroslava Duma has teamed up with iconic artist jeweller Fabergé and Harrods, the world’s most famous department store, for ‘A Fabergé Easter at Harrods’, an exclusive collaboration running from 1st to 21st April 2014.
Miroslava Duma, the digital pioneer behind the successful online platform Buro 24/7, will launch the ‘Fabergé Cinescope.’ The ‘Fabergé Cinescope’ will enable visitors to try Fabergé jewellery via a digital mirror and create a one-of-a-kind animation portrait of themselves that can be shared across social media. The digital concept is inspired by a popular Victorian novelty that creates a pre-cinematic form of animation. The animated portrait is based on the trompe-l’oeil optical effect created by two images placed on either side of a disk creating an illusion of being one image when rotated quickly.
The ‘Fabergé Cinescope’ is also inspired by the prominence of portraiture in Fabergé eggs or other historic Fabergé pieces. Marrying innovation with tradition is what Fabergé excels at – creating contemporary jewellery collections inspired by its illustrious heritage, and now transforming a period toy into a digital-age concept.
Miroslava Duma comments: ‘I am really excited to be working with Fabergé and Harrods on this innovative Easter collaboration. Fabergé being the ultimate Russian jewellery house is very close to me. Together with Harrods, they are re-inventing heritage for today’s audience.’
‘A Fabergé Easter at Harrods’ runs from 1st to 21st April 2014 at 87-135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7XL, United Kingdom. The Fabergé Salon and Digital Lounge will be located at Door 9, Ground Floor, Harrods.
Fabergé collections are available online or in our international boutiques.
